This project reimagines Balenciaga's controversial 2022 campaign by taking a bold new creative direction. Using the brand's DNA and heritage, the refreshed campaign repositions the notorious Balenciaga bondage bear as a symbol of breaking free from societal norms. This new approach highlights Balenciaga's ethos of defying conventions and transcending labels in luxury fashion.
BACKGROUND
In 2022, Balenciaga was under fire for sexualising and exploiting children for commercial gain by putting them in borderline pornographic accessories, sparking widespread outrage and debate about the ethics of advertising practices.
